The Film and Lecture Series consists of the screening of one of Molly Secours' films, followed by discussion of the film and the issues it addresses. Films designated as YVTV were created under Molly's Youth Voice Through Video program, co-founded with the Oasis Center, and made possible in part by a grant from the George Soros Foundation.

College On The Brain

April 2007: Wrote, produced, directed and edited a 30-minute documentary highlighting the economic, social and racial inequities at a local high school in East Nashville and how a group of youth took matters in their own hands by joining forces with a committed high school principal. Their mission was rather than beating the odds, to actually change them.

Faces of Tenncare: Putting a Human Face on Tennessee's Health Care Failure

March 2006: Wrote, produced, and edited a 13-minute short documentary which explores how the loss of medical coverage has emotionally, physically and financially devastated the lives of thousands upon thousands of Tennesseans.
The short film features portraits by photojournalist Joon Powell, narrated by Minton Sparks with vocals and music by Maura O'Connell, John Prine and Steve Conn.

A Way Out (YVTV)

July 2005: Produced, co-directed and edited a 17-minute Youth Voice Through Video (YVTV) narrative.
The piece explores the dilemma of a talented basketball player pulled between the influences of a classmate who has succumbed to the temptations of easy money and a studious friend who offers to help him boost his grades for college.

Spring 2004: Produced, co-directed and edited a 15-minute narrative with youth which takes a peak at teen romance and what might happen when the proposition is made to "take the relationship to the next level."

June 2003: Produced, co-directed and edited a 21-minute documentary in conjunction with juvenile court ordered at-risk youth and Genesis Mentors. The youths invite us into their homes and their worlds to inform us and challenge our assumptions as we hear from them about the challenges facing them on the street, in their neighborhoods and in their homes.

September 2003: Co-wrote, edited, and produced a 9 1/2-minute video addressing the impending execution of death-row inmate Philip Workman and his appearance before the TN State Clemency Board where evidence of perjured eyewitness testimony was presented and ignored.
